Latin Music Legends Stamps
I bought my Latin Music Legends stamps last week.
Now to decide if I have the heart to actually use them. (Selena is my favorite, though Carmen Miranda is a close second.)
¿What does “Latinaish” mean?
Latinaish (lat-teen-uh-ish)
adjective/noun1. To be somewhat similar to a female of Latin American or Spanish-speaking descent.
2. In other words, me.
Synonyms: Gringa Latina, Alma Latina, Latina de Corazón, Honorary Latina, Adopted Latina

You should choose Carlos Gardel.
Shame on me, Federico, but Carlos Gardel is actually the only person I wasn’t familiar with.
The controversy on where he was actually born, (either France or Uruguay), while being raised in Argentina is really interesting. So he is a “Latin Music Legend” and possibly not of Latin American descent. Pretty cool from my Latina-ish perspective :)
Truthfully I don’t listen to much Tango, but after looking up some videos on YouTube, I love the quality of his voice.
Recently found documents testify that Carlitos Gardel was born in Tulouse, France, but he was raised in Argentina. Of course, he was more argentine than french (su aire se arrabal dan evidencia de su amor por el Río de la Plata).
I’m not a fan of Gardel but I recongize him as the most representative singer of my country, as Maradona is the most representative soccer player of Argentina.
Sadly, Carlitos died in a plane accident in Medellín, Colombia.

Mi abuelita AMABA a Carlos. Me encanta la letra de sus canciones mas no su voz. Y claro, cuando visité Buenos Aires, y en honor a mi abue, fuimos avisitar su tumba. Encendimos un cigarro, como es costumbre, le di un puff y se lo dejamos ahi!

cool stamps…a little side story…. we haven’t had a TV for over a year, but we had an old, small one in our shed and plugged it in the other day…it only gets one channel with our antenna…and it’s in Spanish!!! Selena was on the night we plugged it in, so the kids watched a little of it. I didn’t tell them what happened at the end.
So this channel mostly shows telenovelas, but I haven’t noticed Los Herederos del Monte. ( It’s a bit fuzzy, too!)
LOL! I have over 100 channels and have trouble finding anything good to watch… You get 1 channel and you get Selena! (love that movie.)
Herederos del Monte is on Telemundo at 9 pm EST Mondays through Fridays. I don’t think it plays anywhere else, (though some fans have been uploading full episodes to YouTube! That’s so helpful for me because I don’t always have time to watch it when it airs.)
If you do decide to use them, let it be on a letter/card to me. :) You can use Carmen Miranda, Tito Puente and Celia Cruz.

I love these! I have a set of stamps when they did Salsa, cha cha cha, etc. So now I need to get these. And probably frame them – especially for my girl Celia Cruz!!
i bought a pack of 20 stamps LAST YEAR… i hardly use stamps. but i’ll buy these just to have them :) Selena is definitely my favorite!
