With the big soccer games coming up, I decided to check out all the soccer-related apps available through Google Play on my Samsung Galaxy s4. There are so many it’s actually kind of overwhelming, but these 3 are the ones I consider “must-haves” for the serious soccer enthusiast.
If you have a Panini sticker album, this app is a fantastic tool to go along with it. Keep track of the stickers you have, the stickers you need, and the ones you have doubles of and can trade by scanning them in. Get the app in the Google Play store for free. (Tip: On occasion it isn’t quite sure which sticker it just scanned. If the wrong soccer player comes up, swipe left for other possible options.)
Univision has just updated this app to get it ready for the big games. Don’t miss a single match even if you’re not home. Live streaming and 24/7 coverage. Get the app in the Google Play store for free.
adidas 2014 FIFA World Cup
The adidas 2014 FIFA World Cup app is really fun. The live wallpaper adds a little soccer ball that rolls around behind your apps. (It’s actually the “Brazuca” ball which is the official match ball.) If you choose the 3D version you can flick it with your finger into the goal and choose a theme featuring the flag of one of the participating teams, like the United States. If you choose the 2D version, then you can pick any country, even if they’re not playing in the upcoming games. Get the app in the Google Play store for free.
