Wonderful post! As a Latina born in the US, I can say that although this drama probably was uncomfortable for your kids, it was probably memorable and something they might laugh at one day. In a strange way, these experiences are recuerdos we hold on to and show a different side of our culture. BTW, your suegra sounds like my friend’s mom! The similarities had me cracking up!
